Love, romance and the happily ever after are what make some of the best movies ever made. Throw in a beautiful wedding scene and every woman’s eyes will be glued to the screen. Being a bride dressed in a gorgeous white gown, gliding down the aisle on her father’s arm to be joined in holy matrimony with the man of her dreams is the stuff that young girls fantasize about from a very young age. Classic story of a man fighting to remain a single man, oblivious to love, only to find it sneak up on him anyway.

Wedding Crashers (2005)Wedding Crashers (2005) – Two young men, with ‘love ‘em and leave ‘em’ attitudes realize that weddings are great places to pick up women. Although not invited, they seek out and crash their way into the reception of a newly married couple while the intention of ‘getting lucky’ and will do almost anything to get what they want. All goes well until one of them falls in love. A great romantic comedy with many funny scenes.

My Best Friends Wedding (1997)My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997) – Upon hearing that her best guy friend has gotten engaged and with the wedding only a short time away the woman comes to the realization that she loves him. Thinking she has let her chance go by she is heartbroken until she decides to do everything she can to get him back. Right up until the wedding ceremony viewers are left wondering whether she will be successful.

The Wedding Singer (1998)The Wedding Singer (1998) – When a singer and a waitress meet at a wedding they become friends. Both are engaged to the wrong people, and as fate would have it the singer gets left at the altar. The waitress, feeling his pain and not 100% certain she is engaged to the right man, tries to comfort the singer and eventually the singer realizes that it is the waitress he truly loves and wants to spend the rest of his life with.

Mamma Mia (2008)Mamma Mia (2008) – For Abba fans this is the movie that features all of their great hits from the 70’s, along with a touching story of a beautiful but spirited young bride-to-be who is seeking out her real father. The bride-to-be invites 3 men to her wedding in an effort to find out which one of them is her father, much to her mother’s shock. Lots of great music, plenty of romance and some great laughs as the story unfolds.

The Princess Bride (1987)The Princess Bride (1987) – As with any good fairytale romance there is a Princess, an evil villain and of course a hero. The dashing hero spends most of the movie trying to save the former farm girl from becoming the Princess bride of the evil villain. In typical fairytale form the villain is equally determined that the girl will become his bride and will stop at nothing to ensure it happens, despite her obvious distaste for him. This is a classic tale of true love with lots of exciting adventures thrown in for added measure.
